Students of grade 5 had great fun in doing a class project on Recipe Ingredient Calculation.

The volume of liquid it will hold is:

(A) 3.6 litres

(B) 36 litres

(C) 360 litres

(D) 3600 litres

Find the volume of a cuboid which measures 12 cm by 3 cm by 6 cm.

Volume of Cuboid

A cuboid is a 3 dimensional shape.
To work out the volume we need to know 3 measurements.


Look at this shape of a cuboid.
There are 3 different measurements:
Length,   Width,   Height


The volume is found using the formula:
Volume = Length Ã— Breadth Ã—  Height
Which is usually shortened to:
V = l Ã— b Ã— h
